EL Directory (eldirectory.co.za) is operated from East London, South Africa, by Dr. S.A. Mahlasela. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
Browsing involves requests to our hosting providers, which may process your IP address, browser information and request logs to deliver and secure the site. We do not install a separate browser analytics tracker. Google Fonts receives requests to display our typography.
When you submit a business listing or send a contact form, we collect the information you provide directly: business details, your name, email, and phone number. We use this only to publish your listing or reply to your enquiry.
Cookies
Necessary storage remembers your choices and supports administrator authentication. Google AdSense loads only after you allow advertising. Advertising is off by default. Read our Cookie Policy for purposes and durations, and use Privacy settings to change or withdraw consent at any time.
How we use your data
- To display your business listing publicly (only the details you submit for publication)
- To reply to enquiries you send us
- To serve and measure ads via Google AdSense when you consent
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share submission contact details with third parties. The only exception is hosting and infrastructure providers (Supabase, Railway, Cloudflare) who process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

Your rights (POPIA & GDPR)
You have the right to ask what data we hold on you, request a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you submitted a business listing and want it removed, just ask. No reason needed.
Children
The directory is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
Changes
If we materially change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, where practical, post a notice on the homepage.
